Treatments for Rosacia

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea – pronounced RO-ZAY-SHA - is a chronic skin condition that affects a person’s face predominantly.

The condition causes redness of the nose, chin, cheeks and forehead and can intensify over time, leaving the sufferer feeling self-conscious of their appearance.

In some cases, rosacea can appear on the chest, back or neck.
It can also affect the eyes, leaving them feeling irritated or bloodshot and watery.
Rosacea sufferers can also sometimes develop red, solid bumps of thickened skin and pus-filled pimples in affected areas.
If left untreated, this can often cause a sufferer’s nose to take on a bulbous, swollen appearance called rhinophyma.

Although rosacea can affect all segments of the population and all skin types, those with fair skin who tend to blush easily are believed to be at greatest risk.

Symptoms of rosacea often begin with episodes of skin flushing or blushing, where the skin turns red for a short period.

However, other primary symptoms can develop as the condition progresses, such as:

  • burning and stinging sensations

  • permanent redness

  • spots (papules and pustules)

  • small blood vessels in the skin becoming visible

As rosacea is a relapsing condition, sufferers will have periods when symptoms are particularly bad, but less severe at other times.

Secondary symptoms of rosacea include:

  • Eye irritation

  • Facial burning or stinging

  • Dry, rough skin in the central part of the face

  • Skin thickening

  • Raised red skin patches known as ‘plaques’

  • Facial swelling

Here at the Serenity Room we offer a range of Treatments which can help reduce the appearance of Rosacia.

Treatments for Rosacia

Dermaplaning can give you temporary relief from Rosacea.  When facial hair is removed there is nowhere for oil and dirt to cling to, so less chance of bacteria growing and the skin becoming infected and/or inflamed.

This facial can be carried out on Rosacia-skin.  Any where the Rosacia is active and pustular can be worked around.  It is important that Rosacia skin has a good home-care regime and that any sebum is removed before it has time to build-up on the skin.  Sebum is the skin’s worst enemy!

The Chemical Peel & Mask treatment is the one favoured by acne sufferers as this exfoliates, kills existing bacteria and hydrates. Chemical peels have been around for a long time for good reason—they work.

See how a pro peel could heal your skin woes, from acne and uneven skin tone to melasma and fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels work by exfoliating the skin’s surface to reduce the appearance of blemishes, smooth skin texture, improve radiance, and restore skin health. These effective treatments can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, or legs. They are most effective at enhancing cell turnover and improving the appearance on the surface of the skin. We only use the very best quality products available from Cliniccare one of the world´s top professional skin care suppliers.

For the best results on Rosacia we recommend using a combination of both treatments the dermaplaning first to clear away the hair so there is nowhere for oil and dirt to cling to, so less chance of bacteria growing and the skin becoming infected and/or inflamed. Followed by the chemical peel to exfoliate and kill existing bacteria and to hydrate the skin. Leaving your skin looking rejuvenated and less inflamed.
